Join the EdTech Austria Innovation Challenge!

EdTech Austria and its partners Austrian Standards, SPAR Austria and VERITAS Verlag are looking for innovative solutions to drive digital education in their companies. Boost your business to work with these renowned, large Austrian companies in the search fields of innovative adult education training tools, data analytics for learning management system and assessment of learnings. The startups with the most promising use case will have the chance to implement their solution in one of the partnering companies.

Search fields

Innovative adult education training tools

Austrian Standards wants to revolutionize knowledge transfer in the field of further adult education. They are looking for digital, innovative tools and methods for training programs. The solutions should substitute traditional, rigid, and pre-set structures of training programs, and offer flexible and individualized methods and tools for training and lectures. Moreover, training should go beyond the classical lecture and be integrated into the professional life of the participants, to guarantee continuous learning experience and knowledge update. In the end, a new standard will be set for innovative and state-of-the-art training by targeting flexible and personalized methods and tools for teaching within training programs and beyond.

Austrian Standards is the Austrian organization for standardization & innovation and forms part of an international network covering 165 countries. Standards are developed by expert practitioners in European and international co-operation. In Austria alone, more than 4,500 specialists from diverse organizations, disciplines, and industries (economy, research, administration, and NGOs) contribute their know-how. Based on digital solutions, Austrian Standards also offers easy access to standards from all over the world. Technical literature, conferences, and seminars facilitate their practical application, certifications evidence conformity with standards.

Data analytics for learning management system

SPAR Austria wants to get a deeper understanding on the quality and user behavior of their internal learning platform. They are looking for a data analysis tool which helps them better understand the users’ learning behavior within a SCORM package, learning paths, usability, etc. In the end SPAR Austria wants to be able to improve the quality of the learning management system (LMS) and its contents based on the evaluated data out of the platform.

The SPAR Austria LMS is based on Totara/Moodle, with which the data analytics tool should be compatible. The results of the analysis should be displayed in management-ready reporting, like a dashboard or similar.

SPAR Austria is a 100%privately owned Austrian retailer. With the neighboring countries of North-Eastern Italy, Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia, the SPAR Austria Group now employs around 90,000people. The Austrian market leader is constantly setting new benchmarks to achieve the vision of the Austrian retail company becoming a Central European retail group and to push the SPAR brand even further. In order to successfully support this vision in the area of digital learning and development, HumanResources focuses on the digitalization of the training and development landscape within the Group. For this reason, the opportunity to now be part of the Ed-Tech cluster is a perfect match!

Assessment of learnings and educational content

VERITAS Verlag wants to bring the assessment of learnings combined with the underlying educational content to a new level. They are looking for disruptive and alternative ways of measuring knowledge status and the impact of their (digital) educational content on it.

The solution should provide analysis and insights on how and to which extend educational content enables individual learning success. Based on this, individual learning roadmaps and content delivery should be the output.

In the end, it should help VERITAS Verlag to provide best-in-class educational content by real-time continuous improvement of their educational content. Moreover, teachers and parents will get a tool that supports the design of individual learning roadmaps based on the assessment results.

VERITAS is Austria’s largest educational publisher and at the same time a valuable part of a strong international education group. We help to shape the Austrian educational landscape, keeping an eye on the entire educational process. VERITAS stands for individual learning success and recognized high quality, and has done so for 75 years. With a high level of didactic competence, we develop practice-oriented educational media for teaching and personal learning-printed, digital, and cross-media.
