GO AUSTRIA Spring 2022 by the Global Incubator Network Austria (GIN) is a market discovery and access program with a focus on deep tech startups: a one-week digital program (April 25th – 29th, 2022) and a two-week on-site program in Vienna, Austria (May 27th – June 10th, 2022).
The program gives participants the opportunity to explore the Austrian and European markets, as well as to find new collaboration partners and/or investors. One major asset of the program is the personal startup mentor who will be matched to each startup, supporting it to validate their business model, network with investors and relevant stakeholders, as well as design an internationalization plan.
Why participate?
GO AUSTRIA Spring 2022 is an exclusive, intensive 3-week program (online & on-site in Austria) for up to 15 startups who are already in the later-stage phase and are planning to expand to Europe. The program features exclusive workshops, individual mentors, selected events with networking opportunities and special partnerships with selected Austrian corporates. Additionally, the participants will have the chance to attend Connect Day’22 (where startups meet corporates and investors) and ViennaUp’22 (https://viennaup.com/), the leading Startup Festival in Central Europe. This is a perfect chance for startups to expose their ideas to a specialized audience, to meet interesting potential partners and to forge meaningful connections during the program.
Our Corporate Partner Concept
Since 2016, building strong connections between participating startups and Austrian corporates has been key to the success of the GO AUSTRIA programs. For some of our alumni, what had started with GO AUSTRIA, has turned into long-lasting relationships with Austrian corporates. To initiate even more high-quality and in-depth corporate-startup collaboration, we have invited a number of Austrian corporates known to be open for co-innovation with startups to become dedicated GO AUSTRIA Corporate Partners. Participants will have the exclusive opportunity to meet these Corporate Partners during the program, explore promising collaboration avenues and maybe even draft potential proofs of concept.

Vienna, Austria (Hybrid program)
For this batch, we have split the program into a digital and a physical part. The 1-week digital part (April 25th-29th, 2022) will include masterclasses on demand, live online workshops and individual mentor calls to introduce you to the Austrian ecosystem and to prepare for the visit to Vienna.
The 2-week physical part (May 27-June 10, 2022) will feature
- exclusive events such as a Startup-Mentor Speed-dating, a Pitch Training Follow-up, Meet the Agencies, Legal Office Hours etc.;
- individual mentoring sessions and collaboration with GO AUSTRIA corporate partners;
- individual 1:1 meetings with potential business/research/support partners;
- participation in ViennaUP’22, Austria’s largest startup festival, and at Connect Day’22, a matchmaking event for startups, corporates and investors; and
- a social program with welcome drinks, breakout session to a nearby world-class research institution, Vienna sightseeing, farewell lunch etc.
Participants who, due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, will not be able to travel to Austria for the physical part (May 27th-June 10th, 2022), are invited to come to Vienna individually at a later date.

How to apply: process and timelines

- Plan your meetings with your mentor
- Participate in the 1-week digital program (25th – 29th April 2022) and the 2-week incubation program (27th May – 10th June 2022)
- COVID19: Participants who, due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, will not be able to travel to Austria for the physical part (May 27th-June 10th, 2022), are invited to come to Vienna individually at a later date. In that case, the accommodation and part of the flight costs will be covered as well.

- Cost coverage limited to one person per startup
- Participation: Each selected startup has to nominate one main person participating in the whole program. Ideally, this should be a C-level person with decision power concerning the company’s internationalization strategy. Participating startups are welcome to include further specialized staff in the workshops of the digital part. For the physical part, GIN covers the costs for one person only. Participation of additional persons in the on-site program is possible, but costs will have to be borne by the startup.
GO AUSTRIA Mentors
The GO AUSTRIA program offers you a personal startup mentor with great experience in the Austrian and European startup ecosystem. The mentor will support you in validating and adapting your business model and will connect you with relevant stakeholders. Your mentor will create a tailor-made internationalization strategy with you.
