Applications open
We open the applications for the first OMV Sphere Challenge “Digital solutions for sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) certifications”.
Applications close
We close the applications for the challenge at 11 PM (CEST). Following application deadline, all entries will be evaluated based on merit.
Remote pitches
Ventures with best solution proposals will be invited to remote pitches with OMV managers and experts to discuss their solution, technology, and provide an overview of business model.
Proof of concept phase
Successful teams will be then given the chance to enter a long-term cooperation with OMV.

Our vision is to become a leading supplier of sustainable fuels, chemicals and materials with a focus on circular economy solutions by 2030, and to be climate neutral by 2050 at the latest.

Fill out the application form and provide us with the core information about your solution and your company (It takes approximately 20-30 minutes). If we require further information, we will contact you for a personal interview.
Deadlines are specified for each challenge separately.
The applications call is open until the date published on specific challenge. Following application deadline, all entries will be evaluated based on merit. If your application is selected for further round you will get notified and invited to present your ideas and solution in a remote pitching session the latest 3-6 weeks after applications closing.
Ventures with best solution proposals will be invited to an online interview (remote pitch) with our managers and experts to discuss their solution, technology, and provide an overview of business model.
Down-selected ventures will be invited to pitch at the final event (demo day) in front of the expert team. For this you might be expected to provide overview of costs to size your prototype. Allinformation you need to do this will be shared with you at this stage.
Successful teams will be then given the chance to enter cooperation with OMV and develop a prototype of the solution.
You can take part in the challenge without travelling to Austria. It is not mandatory to attend in-person sessions through the screening rounds.
If your solution is selected for PoC at the later stage, you might be invited to the workshop/demo day in our Vienna offices. OMV will cover travel and accommodation costs (in line with OMV travel policies).
Applications, documentation, workshops and pitches will be held in English.
You will have 30-40 minutes to pitch your solution, followed by a short question-answer round. Remote pitches will beheld 3-6 weeks after applications closing and suitable time will be agreed with your team.
