Wien Energie is one of the biggest utility companies in Austria with more than 2.500 employees. The aim was to support Wien Energie in setting up an innovation strategy within the organization and run a first pilot program to validate the fit between culture and strategy.
WhatAVenture supported Wien Energie in setting up a pilot project, to validate selected business ideas that were generated in a company-wide ideation challenge in prior. 30 employees from different departments were empowered to validate and execute the ideas with lean and customer centric approaches. Teams conducted customer interviews, built lean prototypes and tested hypothesis.
By training employees from various business units with lean innovation methods a change within the organization can be achieved. Every participant of the program gained knowledge and used tools and processes to independently create innovations and to quickly validate new business ideas by applying customer centric approaches. Repeatable processes were installed to foster innovation in a long term within the organisation.
